Rosy, the Lady Bug

The Lady Bug

Rosy , the ladybug was muttering to herself. ‘’Dear God, I'm so hungry.  How wonderfull that I am surrounded by aphids.   It took so long to become this adult bug  and now I must eat ! eat ! eat ! so I can mate and lay eggs.”

Rosy has just metamorphosized from a pupa to a fully grown adult ladybug. Soon she will lay her eggs and continue with a ladybug’s cycle life, a metamorphosis of 4 stages, egg, larva, pupa, adult.

‘’It's so cool and comfortable here on the underside of this  leaf. It looks like a tomato plant. I know humans really like tomatoes so I am sure they won’t mind if I enjoy this aphid feast.  I am so indispensable to this environment, to the small little space that I occupy on the underside of this leaf so scrumptiously  delicious.’’

Rosy  continues to chomp and  digest with relish not noticing the gardener who has arrived.

The gardener, too, is muttering to himself.  ‘’Oh my garden is so beautiful. Look how well everything is growing. I love it here !  It's so cool and refreshing.  So promising! New adventures in life! New growth, design, … new possibilities!  And food! The wonderful food that I will get from this garden to nourish and create pleasure at the table’’

And passing each other at this moment in time , though both Rosy and the Gardener are both  dreaming of the shared experience of delicious food from a thriving garden, they do not notice each other.
